World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of weapons, armors and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to provide an additional stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). view site… boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what will be improved following an update.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a high possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate the chances of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.
You will often find in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Leveling
The upgrade system for items lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or purchased from some NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrade an item, the base item will be replaced by the new item. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll the upgrade of their item. The item will be replaced by an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every when you upgrade an item, it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition, which requires the player to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is computed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a standard equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may require different upgrades than regular gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment requires different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the expenses listed above.
