World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Upgrades to items allow players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items, like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition, many weapons have an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon is present on a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity and level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative effects as well. In the case of items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you have an extremely fortunate roll.
Items of armor can also be upgraded to increase their effectiveness. This can increase the defense base of a chest or helm while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense%. This means that it can sometimes reroll down to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that an upgrade from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in the weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will be hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that circle. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you will get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, go to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game and to unlock each one you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the primary side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor is different. You'll require anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a good-sized group of enemies in most cold climates, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a handful of friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, provide an immediate effect. There are five types of potions that have different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. In addition the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or in the chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you want to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. item upgrades of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion is upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance splash potions now have an average duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item). The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the contents and refills the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potion ingredients is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant, such as a thimble. In some cultures, a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Trinkets like other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased using tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. One can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl of the old one, and will include an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer useful, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they won't replace in the near future (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players should consider their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for a tank player, then they should upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher ilvl after they are no longer useful, and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional 1% upgrade bonus. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing an entirely new trinket.
